Gulong Canyon Drifting

The Gulong Canyon Drifting, acclaimed as the “roller coaster on the crest of waves,” is the most exhilarating drifting experience in Guangdong, without comparison. The average slope of the Gulong Canyon Drifting track is 9.5%, surpassing the 7.5% average slope of the world’s largest canyon, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.

As an international drifting arena, Gulong Canyon boasts two world records: the longest natural water competition course and the natural water competition course with the greatest drop. It has hosted numerous international natural water drifting competitions and is designated by the General Administration of Sport of China as the official drifting track. The Gulong Canyon International Drifting Arena spans 6,063 meters in total, with a drop of 378 meters, reaching speeds of up to 72 kilometers per hour. It consists of two segments, the “Peak Track” and the “Extreme Track,” making it the longest, steepest, and fastest competitive drifting project globally.

Due to its deep ravines, steep cliffs, dense forests, towering ancient trees, and intertwining vines, Gulong Canyon’s watercourse is enveloped in a “forest tunnel.” The primitive jungle obscures the sky, making it a drifting course where daylight is seldom seen, and the highest temperature throughout the year is only 22°C. In contrast to other drifting experiences exposed to the scorching sun in summer, Gulong Canyon is the only water activity in Guangdong that proudly claims “no need for sunscreen.” The primary water source for the drifting course is the Gulong Cave in the canyon, a drinking water source with layers of sandstone and multiple springs gushing out, creating a resonant, clear, and refreshing water, earning it the historical reference of “Gulong Ming Quan.”

Olympic champions such as Sun Shuwei, Yang Jinghui, and Wu Jingyu have personally experienced the excitement of drifting at the Gulong Canyon International Drifting Arena. The wild drops, intense rhythms, pristine ecology, and high-quality water sources of the Gulong Canyon Drifting track have set a new standard for Chinese drifting, widely recognized as the most thrilling and enjoyable drifting experience in China.

The newly upgraded Gulong Canyon Drifting course incorporates scenes from the Amazon tribe, featuring challenges like Gorilla Island, Crocodile Pond, Dinosaur Valley, pioneering a scenario-based drifting experience nationwide. In the tumultuous rapids, gorillas and crocodiles surge forward, and just when the thrill subsides, gigantic dinosaurs loom into view. Gulong Canyon Drifting is about professionalism in drifting and the thrill of the experience.

Qingyuan is the hometown of Chinese drifting, and Gulong Canyon, as the pinnacle of drifting in Qingyuan, is regarded by the industry as “See Qingyuan for Chinese drifting, and see Gulong for drifting in Qingyuan.” The Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision has formulated service standards for the drifting industry, and Gulong Canyon actively participated in drafting and implementing them. The Gulong Canyon Drifting course, designed meticulously by international drifting experts according to track standards, is among the first batch of standardized courses certified by the Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, receiving safety certification from the highest authorities, including the “China Classification Society” and the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau.
